Below sets out the terms and conditions for wedding and Celebration Cakes ordered and purchased through Cakes and Catering. If you have any questions about these please do not hesitate to ask.
The price is calculated to your exact design and size of cake and is charged accordingly.
Upon booking a Wedding cake a non-refundable deposit of 25% is required. The remaining balance is due four (4) weeks before your event.
A celebration cake will require a non-refundable deposit of 25% at time of booking, the remaining balance paid when cake is collected.
We accept payment by banks transfer or cheque. You can also see us in the shop and pay by cash.
We reserve the right to retain your non-refundable deposit
If cancellation occurs on a wedding cake seven (7) days prior to your wedding 50% of total order will be charged.
If cancellation of a celebration cake occurs after the cake has been completed, 100% of the total cost would still be payable to Cakes and Catering
Provided Colours and Images
We must receive colour sample to get true match of colour required. This can be posted or dropped into the shop. A small piece of material or ribbon is suitable. Computer colours are not true enough and depend on the printer and screen being viewed on.
Images provided must clearly show the subject matter with a plain background. If an unsuitable image is given, which requires editing or the sourcing of a replacement, an extra charge will be applied.
When designing and ordering your cake please bear in mind that hot weather and marquees may not be suitable for chocolate or buttercream cakes.
Displaying your Cake
Please ensure that the display location is level and the table is strong enough to hold the weight of the cake.
A photograph will be taken once the cake is displayed as proof that the cake was set up and left in good condition.
Cakes and Catering cannot be held liable once cake has been delivered or collected.
Fresh Flowers are the responsibility of the florist or client. We are prepared to add real flowers to your cake on delivery, if they are arranged and sealed (no water to spoil surface of cake)
Portion Guide is just a guide and depends on who is doing the cutting
Sugar paste and Royal icing should not be refrigerated as this causes condensation on surface of icing.
We cannot guarantee the quality of the cake more than 5 days after the event. Cakes must be stored covered in an air tight container in a cool room. If stored correctly fruit cakes can last at least three months.
Non-edible items must be removed by caterer or client.
Please discuss with us any dietary requirements. Please be aware our kitchen uses nuts and gluten.
Please ensure that any hired stands are returned to the shop on Wednesday after the wedding. If Cakes and Catering have to come and collect from the venue/client 45 pence per mile will be charged.
If you have any concerns about your cake, please let us know immediately. We must be able to view the fault.
Cakes and Catering reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions at any time.
